So one of our awesome PT family has a transmission in Kansas, he was planning to bring it with him to Indiana over Christmas/New Years week.
So here is a guy in southern Indiana looking to see if someone might be going to Kansas , I'll need to find out just where he lives. Don't get me wrong I would not ask for free service, hand over a little cash for gas/trouble. It's an old ST400 from a Buick Riviera, my deal is done, the bad thing is a shipping crate and shipping are looking to cost same as the transmission.
My only other option would be to have parts I need removed and ship those.
Figure the trans weight is around 135-140 lbs plus converter weight.
Driving to meet someone might be possible. But the trip to Chris's home would be well into Kansas. Quite far to me.

I'm pretty close to Garden City, KS and have the ability to get a great deal on freight shipping. I'd be happy to pick the trans up, strap it onto a pallet and send it your way for you. I'm betting if you had a commercial address with a dock or forklift that I could ship the trans too...I could get it there for $200-300 total. Another option might be for you to pick it up at the local freight terminal to save on freight.

This is no big deal for me, we do it all of the time. Just shoot me a PM with your contact info and anymore details that you have and I'll try to figure out the best method for you.

Lee,
I will be traveling from VA back home to Kansas in June to spend time with family and friends. From Hutchinson to Garden City is about 170 miles. If you have not been able to move it before then let me know. I would add that I shipped a SBC strapped to a standard 40"x48" pallet from my engine builder in KS to the NAPA I work at here in VA for about $150. I know Lance is in the business of shipping so I'm pretty sure he has the connections to hook you up much sooner.

I've shipped Transmission via Greyhound with good success. The only downside is it is Terminal to Terminal.
