OK, looking for street/road race capable brakes for 68 Mustang. Going with 17" wheels to clear most 13" brakes and thinking that there will also be plenty of tire choices for 17"s.
Been reading up on brake theory here and elsewhere on web.
Been learning plenty, basic take away use street pads on street and switch to race pads on track day and size system properly. Check!
Most half decent OEM calipers are 2 piston PBR type mated to around 1.1" thick rotor
94-04 Cobra 13"
05-09 Mustang GT 12.5"
11-13 Mustang GT 13.2"

Because this car will see road courses I would like to step up to at least 4 piston calipers as I have learned that the 2 piston type give uneven wear when driven hard. One OEM option is:
2000 Cobra R Brembo 4 piston caliper.
I heard this caliper is wide and may cause fitting issues.

Of course there are plenty of BIG $ after market brakes like Wilwood, Stop Tech, etc.
Ease of switching pads a benefit. Two piece hat and rotor maybe a hassle but will deal if I cant find quality made in USA one piece rotors. I would like both rotor options to be sized 13x1.25.
If I go this route how much do I have to worry about lack of dust seals as most race calipers are lacking right? I live in the country and must drive 2 miles on dirt road to get to and from my home.

Of course there is the k/h caliper 12" rotor option as well.
Have I missed anything?
Thoughts and experiences...
