Dodge /6 applications. Gotta make it cheap or free; those guys are STINGY.
Oh, and just talking out loud here, but Dodge 2.2/2.5/2.4 RWD conversion applications would be nice too.

I'd like to see 4wd fullsize trucks covered like a replacement for the sm 468 with a usable 1st and od. The nv4500 is rare and expensive.

Don't know if the Std A body kit works but I would love to see a 6-speed in my 71 Buick Sportwagon.

G Bodies. They're rare to come factory with a standard trans and I think they're the next 55 Chevy or however you want to say inexpensive street/track car. They've been popular in drag racing and circle track for years, because they're relatively light and the stock style or slightly modified suspension works well in those situations. I've seen some big changes in G body Pro Touring suspension options over the last 5+ years I personally have owned one. Since they have the same wheelbase and track width as a 1st gen Camaro, and curb weight is only about 100 lbs heavier, they make a great inexpensive alternative to the more spendy "popular" P-T cars. With the changes in the 2016 SCCA CAM classification, G bodies are now in the right class where they can be competitive and I think we'll see more and more of them surfacing at P-T and SCCA events in the future. It would be really cool to see a kit specifically for a G body, my automatic has been great but I know for sure my wagon would love to be swapped to a gear banger! I will have my car apart after Christmas for a more powerful engine swap, wagons have the same chassis dimensions as a two door so let me know if I can get you any dimension measurements or what have you. I'd be happy to help move the G body world forward.

Square body(73-87) Chevy trucks

Hey There,
Here at HDC we are looking at adding some new products to our inventory and were looking for some feedback on cars and trucks that we can consider making kits for. We do have 6 speed Tremec T-56 kits for the G-Body now available. We do also offer some custom applications for Valiant's like the one that Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle put in the Violent Valiant SEMA build.
For the square body (73-87) Chevy truck guys we offer a 5 and 6 speed kits that include everything for these trucks. We offer the same Hurst Blackjack offset shifter that we have offered for years with our other kits now for the pickup truck.
Please give us a call and ask what we can put together for your car today! Many kits available and many more kits that we can custom build for your application just ask!

HDC,
It would be nice if you offered a kit to install a T56 Magnum behind an old school SBC in a 1st Gen Camaro. Not all of us are interested in installing an LSx and your current 1st gen Camaro T56 kit appears to be totally useless unless using a very specific LS engine/trans mount combo. I really like the design of your 1st gen Camaro T56 transmission cross member, unfortunately it does not work with my SBC/T56 Mag combo.

We do offer a kit to do that in a first gen Camaro with a SB/BB engine. We offer a Quicktime steel scattershield that will adapt the SBc engine to a LS based T-56. If you would like to call in we could talk about the options that we have for your specific application,
Thank you,

According to your web site the cross member I need is LS-6769 could you confirm that is the correct PN for a 1st gen Camaro with SBC/T56 LS Magnum using the QT bell housing?
Thanks

So that's a no for the Slant 6 crowd?
Colby@HDC

The LS-6769 is the correct Part# for the cross member that you need. The LS designation is for the LS based T-56 6 speed transmission. If you were running the TKO 5 speed transmission it would be the Part# 6769.
For the Slant six guys, if we can find a bell housing to adapt the engine to either the 6 speed or the 5 speed transmission we can build a kit that will work for you.
We always like doing the custom builds and adding new cars to our resume. If you have a car that you do not see on the website or have any questions regarding the products always feel free to ask or to give us a call at (707)-535-3030. My extension is 651 and you can always call me direct.

'71-'74 and '75-'80 H-bodies. (Vega, Astre, Monza, Skyhawk, Sunbird, Starfire). The two year distinctions are trans crossmember mounting location differences.
These cars were a million strong back in the day. There are still many out there everyday.... not just race cars but daily drivers, show cars, autocrossers and PowerTour cruisers.
www.h-body.org (http://www.h-body.org) The forum there is full of folks doing engine/trans swaps every week. LS, SBC, BBC, Pontiac, Buick, 4.3s, turboed ecotechs,..... everything. NO ONE makes trans kits for these babies (Power by Ace has some crossmembers). Many have already piece-milled the parts to put a T-56 in their car and there is a TON of technical knowledge there.....(great guys on that forum -- hint: great technical advisors)... and would be nice place to be if anyone wanted to be a vendor on a website...... bolt-in stuff would sell well.
Both Bellhousings were used from the factory, Chevy(151, 262-350) and B.O.P. (3.2L-3.8L) .... as well as a unique Vega 2300 Bell. All are cable operated. Most all are 10-spline input shaft trans.... except those ever-popular LS conversions.
There is already a ton of support out there for Tri-Fives , 'Vettes, F-bodies and the like ... thanks for thinking to expand your product.... I guarantee there are H-bodies out there getting built and raced and cruised and shown. They are seen everywhere. And everyone has known someone who had one "back in the the day". Very popular car. Every fuel stop nets at least one conversation about the car. (I own 3).
I understand the economies of scale..... F-bodies and Mustangs are the bread and butter... we all know you've got that subject covered.... well covered.....but if you want to be "THE GUY" when it comes to trans swaps, it goes a long way to reach the old school guys that get a lot of attention at the shows and meets. H-bodies do do that.... very well. Everyone loves hot rod Vegas..... and the Monzas and it's "clones" are coming on strong at all the shows.
Just some food for thought.

GM G-body for sure. There are several ways of doing it now, but it ends up a mishmash of parts. Often extra parts are bought because your particular combo is different and you thought x would work, only to find out it doesn't. I love my '78 Malibu, even has a Muncie M-21 in it, but highway cruising with 3.42 gears, 25" tall tires, and no overdrive just doesn't work.

Everything with 4 wheels would be my answer. Making a bell housing that would adapt to most every common engine pattern would be my desire. Hanlon modifying the 3650 to work with normal bell housings is a nice step. If the adapters are low cost, that's a big first step in my accounting to see if I will use the engine. All my projects have some kind of Tremec 5 speed.

I just got a Legend LGT 700, but I too would like to see more G-body manual transmission options in kit form. Shafi used to have a kit, but almost none of it actually worked with a G-body so I sent it back.

Although it's not yet listed on our website, HDC does currently offer T-56 conversion kits for 70-88 GM G-bodies. If you have any questions or are interested in a quote, give us a call at 707-535-3030 and ask for Ronnie at ext. 448. Ronnie has this kit in his '84 Monte Carlo and is our go-to guy for all things G-body.

*What about a sleeper set up. I have a bench seat 70 Nova 350/350 and I think a swap with the bench would be neat. I also have a factory 4 speed 68 camaro along with a tko600 deluxe kit i bought from you in 2010 and it has never been opened.
*Why not prove the TKO can be a high rev trans when properly set up? You tube it and there arent a ton of Videos with that trans ?Maybe even do a project on it.you hear and read about how bad they are so prove they aren't. Up the power and maybe upgrade the trans as well maybe after you push it until it fails. Drag race it autocross it , maybe even open road race it. As soon as i got mine the magnum came out and i froze .Assurance would go far along with maybe some videos on setting them up for mechanical linkages and also converting to hydraulic.
