This past Charlotte OUSCI, I talked with the Falken guys and they said to expect a whole new tire sometime in 2016.
Anyone with more info on these? Time frame?

Rumor has it that the new Falkens were ran at the OUSCI in Las Vegas and they were faster than their old tires but, not as fast as the BFGs.

interesting...I know if I buy tires now, something better will come out the month after I buy them!
I'm running the 615k's, but I guess I'll just switch to the Rival S. Proven tire.

They were swapping tires between runs?

They were? That is a big no no.

You make the declarative statement:
"new Falkens were ran at the OUSCI in Las Vegas and they were faster than their old tires but, not as fast as the BFGs"
To make that statement you'd have to have the same car, same driver, same track configuration swapping tires after runs or its all just speculation and/or conjecture.

And you will need to have the appropriate spring rate, shock valving and settings, alignment, and tire pressures for each tire comparison/test. Additionally, in most cases, car type, driving style, and skill is also a big part of that equation. A tire comparison test on one type of car could be totally different on another type of car. Some car types favor one tire over the other tire.

Exactly. Hopefully some data will come to light in the coming months so we can all start tire shopping for the 2016 season!

If this was the case, the tester was not a competitor as you have to run a commercially available tire at the event. This would move them to the Exhibition class which would also allow them the freedom to switch between the 2 sets of tires. Did anyone run in the Exhibition Class at OUSCI?
