I can't find the answers! All the searches relate to rear tires. What is the widest rim that will clear the DSE frame? The instructions show a 10" with a 275, but I swear the cars I have seen seem to be bigger. Will a 11" fit with a 315?

I believe you can only fit a 315 with flared fenders.

Ok, what I'm thinking is future growth so I don't spend money twice of the wheels. I would like to get a 11" rim, probably put a 275 or a 285 and it allows for a 315 if I'm ready to mod down the road?

Do yourself a favor and buy or rent a wheel fitment tool. Assemble the sheetmetal (particular the inner fender if you are running it), get the ride height where you want it, and test. And retest, and then post up what you decide for others to comment on (or better yet, call DSE and confirm).

Just do it... :)

You can fit 315's, and I think even 335's, but you'll be cutting/stretching metal to make them fit. If you are going to purchase 3 piece wheels, you could try and ensure that 2 of the sections are where they need to be and just replace the inner or outer lip down the road. I'm considering exactly that on my setup right now...

One problem....where do you find test tires?

Craigslist. Or here or other similar sites. Put up a wanted ad for a worn out tires. Some guys on here go through them pretty quickly.

Alternatively, just buy the size you know you will use. If you end up with an extra tire in the end, sell it. Much easier and cheaper than guessing on wheel fitment.

With my DSE subframe I'm running a three piece 18x10 wheel with a 6.5" back space and 275 tire. This wheel/tire combo fits without any rubbing but I don't have any wiggle room for wider tires. At some point I would like to flair the front fenders to gain a little more room. At that point all I have to do is just install a 1" wider outside hoop to my existing wheels. I guess the point I'm making here is that if you get a 10" wheel now with the correct back space, you can always install a wider outside hoop later down the road when you are ready to flair your fenders without needing to change the BS. DSE can tell you exactly what BS you need to for a 10" wheel on the 2nd gen sub which is not going to change once you go to 11".

If you're running the DSE subframe it uses a C6 based spindle that has 8.8 degrees of kingpin inclination. To get close to 0 on your scrub radius you need to be around 50 to 60 MM. offset on your wheels.
Your current wheel is only 25mm offset, if you're going to add an inch do it to the inside and improve your scrub radius.

My backspace right now is 4.5 with a 17x8. DSE instruction book reccomend 6.125" with a 10" wheel. I'm not sure if you can take that to the bank

Steve, why did you not go with DSEs reccomendatons for 6.125" bs? Was it wrong?
