There are two different pilot bearings. One is larger outer diameter and sits closer to the transmission. The other is smaller and sits deeper in the crank.

The way I checked was to install the bell-housing (and block saver plate) on the transmission and measure the length of the input shaft extending beyond the bell-housing.

From the GM performance parts catalog:
14061685 Pilot Bearing (not shown) Use with manual transmissions if the input shaft extends beyond the bell housing more than 20mm
12557583 Pilot Bearing (not shown) Use with manual transmissions if the input shaft extends beyond the bell housing 5mm or less (or recessed slightly)

It's the bellhousing that dictates the bearing. What bellhousing are you using?

The quicktime steel housing

The smaller bearing is the correct one.
