I am looking for some seats for my first gen.

Has anyone had any luck using junkyard seats ?

Does anyone have pictures or info on seats.

I have some out of a Fiero in my 1968. I have Deluxe interior with a console, and they fit OK. They are pretty light, too, the shells are aluminum. You need to do a little work to get them to bolt in, but it's not too bad. Aftermarket seat covers cost a bunch, and upholstry shops cringe when you ask them about recovering them, though, are they are pretty curvy.

My Camino has seats from an 88 Mustang GT. They're not bad, now that I've got them mounted properly. It's nice to have lumbar support and all that while cruising.

Downside would be that I don't expect I'll be able to find seat covers that match the rest of the interior and the cost of custom covers is much more than I really want to pay.

My 4th gen seats were sorta from a junkyard. They were from a car that was in a wreck then I bought the seats from the people that owned the car. Front and rear seats, seatbelts and console. Im 100% satisfied and they are power.
Just inspect before you buy. Sit in them and see how they feel before you buy them. Check for stains.

For pictures, I would look on Ebay. They have tons of seats for sale on there and usually have pics with them. Only thing thats hard to tell from that is the actual size. But if you know the car's size, you can figure out if they will be to big/small for your application.

I am going to be using bmw 330i sport seats. full power, memory, lumbar, adjustable thigh support. got em off ebay for cheap. I may have to modify my floor pan a little to get em to sit low enough. they are really comfy with good side bolstering.

Do those seats fold forward?

the ones I got do not fold forward, I didnt notice that until i got them. but if you make sure you get seats out of the coupes, they fold forward. the good thing about the ones I got is that they were cheap enough and if I find the coupe seats they will bolt in place of these.

I was going through that same BS. It was a total jack-up. Good luck to you though. Finally I said with the cost of repairing the seats and all I was just better off buying new ones. Pro car rally seats are good looking seats IMO. The material is has a classic vinly look and fit my 70 chevelle like a glove. There also easy on your pockets.

Good luck bro..

nekkedhillbilly - do some research on the net about the seatbelts in those seats. I have one of those cars. Mine have been ok but I'm worried everytime I pull the belts out to click in. When you pick up the seats you may want to pick up a set of replacement belts jic.

BMW E46 3 series Convertibles have seat belts built into them and are a pretty good sport seat. They fold forward and if you get the right ones they will have power, heat, lumbar, and nice leather.

I work at a BMW auto recycler and still have been waiting for a good pair of black ones to come in.

Much easier to get are the ones without the built in belt that come out of the regular E46 3 series coupes.

Hit me up and if you want pictures of some of the seats.

Keith, do you have any pictures of your seats in the car and maybe some of your modified tracks/brackets. Thinking of putting a pair of 2003 RSX seats in my 68 camaro. Thanks, Dave
