I have the 68 Charger up on stands to start winter mods. One of them is getting all my suspension goodies in place (Hotchkis T-Bars, Tube uppers, strut rods, shocks) and I am looking at my factory K member at it just looks like hell. It's hard to work around, takes up a bunch of space, is nasty dirty (Unlike the rest of the car) so I am looking at my options.

I keep coming back to the QA1 K-Member, but I have my concerns. The tabs for the strut rods look a little Meh, and it looks like the whole unit sits down a bunch under the car as compared to the factory K-Member.

Is this K-Member a decent solution for an old Mopar with 600HP and larger sized tires on the street and track? Ir should I suck it up, pull the factory K-Member, clean it, weld it up, and put that hunk back in the car.

RMS Alterkation is the way to go....

$600 vs $4000

Not an option for me, I already have great brakes, Great steering, and all the rest.

You be the guinea pig and let us know lol! I welded and gusseted my stocker. If the QA1 was tig welded chromoly it would be alot more appealing IMO.

I think I may be the guy! haah

I ordered one up. MIG/TIG Chromo vs stamped and spot welded always sounds better in any case, but who knows!

I will try to keep folks updated as I use this thing.

Pray for me! LOL!

My dad an I run a 70 Challenger in autocross courses and we welded our K-member up solid and added a few extra support braces. We run the Hotchkis suspension and it's awesome!

I got the QA1 K member.

I am going to dowel locate it, as well as bolt it in... I think this is the most major drawback I see with the system.
