Are LSA valve covers different?

The LSA and 9 have no coil brackets. They also look different without the coils on.

They also have more room for higher lift cams

LS3 coil bracket's also set several of the coils up against the fuel rails. Pinching the wires.

For clarity, I'm running a ZL1 supercharger. This is where the fuel rail issue is with the LS N/A valve covers.

Hmmm..... I have the CTS-V supercharger to install some day on my LS2 (LS3 heads), so it wont fit with the stock LS2 valve covers/coils?

The LSA valve covers have the coil mount bosses built in to them. I was running them before I swapped to the Holley ones. Take a look at this post, don't know if it will help your issue (post 265)- http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1456840-66-impala-convert-ls2-conversion-14.html The Holley ones might give you the clearance you need. Be advised that the LSA covers have a oil cap that locks in (normally not removed). I had removed that cap and just screwed in the factory oil cap and filler neck and it worked fine.

I had 2 coil connectors that were binding up on the fuel rail. My concern was the wires coming out of the connects would be damaged and short out on the fuel rail.
