I bought my 69 Camaro in 1996 when I was 18 years old. It had a 350 crate motor in it, but my dad and I decided to make a race car out of it. I didn't tub it out (thankfully) but put a race motor and roll cage in it and raced it for a year. I met my future wife that year and the car took a backseat. Kids eventually came along and the car has been relegated to a garage for the past 15 years. My kids are to the age where I actually have some time to work on it again so it's come back home. I'm looking for a pro touring look for this car, but know that I've got a long way to go. Right now I'm just trying to buy quality parts as I can scrape some money together. I just bought Wilwood brakes and I'm saving for wheels and tires now. Any advice on a sharp wheel/tire combo for this car would be appreciated. Looking forward to sharing the journey!https://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=118836&stc=1https://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=118837&stc=1https://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=118838&stc=1

Welcome! My 68 was a very similar journey and it made the transition from drag car to pro-touring a few years back after being in storage for 30 years. My advice to you is to hold off buying any parts now and save your money. In the mean time, spend your time researching what is available from manufacturers and what direction you want to go with your car before you start buying any parts. Products change, tastes change, technology changes and parts that look good today may be outdated when you finally get ready to go to work on the project. Not to mention, warranties on new/old parts. I can't tell you how many times I have heard of guys that buy a part and put it on the shelf for several years only to find out years later when they go to install it there is problem which the warranty has long since expired. Read thorough the Project Update here on PT and on Lateral-G.net to see what others are doing and what you like and don't like. Just passing this along from experience.

Welcome!

I used to live in Memphis proper and miss it. Fun town.
