After a year of looking at it in the garage, last May my 14 year old son decided on how he wants to set up his 1966 Mustang coupe. He wants it set up for road course driving! Problem one I know nothing about autocross cars. Problem two there is way too much stuff on the web. So I started slow. Floor pan, maybe disc brakes, a bigger sway bar in the front. The next thing I know I went clean slate. Yup I was in for the long haul, total strip and rebuild. We pulled the engine (fresh rebuild), then took the four speed toploader and had it rebuilt. Now the body has been media blasted and etched. Engine to trunk underneath and the entire front. First purchase was the total control coilover and Kentucky Mustang power front disc conversion. Next is the hydraulic clutch and throw out. I'm also starting to look at the rear, I pulled out the 8" and found a 9" from a 77 Bronco that will need to be cut down. Now do I stay with leaf springs or go three or four link?
