Thanks everyone for helping me out in my AAW questions that I had for my 72 camaro . It's been a long and learning process and one that makes me hate electrical even more..

I got most the AAW wiring done and it's time to get the Dakota digital installed.

AAW suggest that I wire the VSS sensor to the wires that come out from the engine bay bulkhead connector and then wire from the dash kit portion to the Dakota box, now can't I just eliminate that hoke process and wire it directly from the sensor to the box?

Am I supposed to splice into the Custer connector to get the connections I need to the Dakota box such as fuel. Headlights. Turn signals and tach?

If that's so I haven't got that far in my AAW kit it's just the harness off the fuse block waiting to be put together. Should I just bypass making the factory cluster connector and wire directly to the Dakota box as well.

Or should I hook everything up as if I was going to use a factory cluster and splice into it?

Thanks

John

I'm assuming you're using the VHX dash. If so, I wired all engine and speed parameters directly from the ECU, only the oil pressure and water temp are read with DD specific sensors.

For the blinkers and such from the original dash, I cut the wires and connected them to the DD box. Lay out all the harnesses along with the DD instructions and it will slowly fall into place.

I apologize that is correct I am using the vhx kit.

I do not have a ECU but based on what you did for others sounds like I should go that route the whole way.

Thank you!
