I know this will be a futile question to ask, but does anybody in the Atlanta have any 16" or larger roller wheels (maybe like some old IROCs - does anybody know if IROCs will clear Wilwood calipers?) and tires they would like to sell pretty cheap to get them out of their garage? I have a 1967 Camaro (5x4.75" pattern) that I am putting Wilwood brakes onto. My current 15" rallye wheels will not clear the calipers (at least not the front 6 piston ones) and I am not ready to invest in my final wheels yet (I have way too many other parts left to buy). The car has been mini-tubbed and the axle narrowed so I don't really want to spend the money on a newer set that will "get me by" until I can buy the expensive ones (yes, I can justify cheap wheels that don't look right but not decent wheels that don't look right :) ). The car is not yet running so these would be just to roll the car around the garage and onto a trailer when I need to take it somewhere. Even after I get it running they would just be for moving the car around - no cone killing.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Mike,

Why not just leave the calipers and rotors off if the car is to done?

Search eBay for a set of "Camaro wheels tires". You should be able to find a full 16"+ set in the $2-300 range. Try to find some local to avoid shipping.

Andrew - the car is painted and going back together now. One of my upcoming steps is plumbing the brakes and I would like to get that down all the way to the calipers at that time. I would hate to get all of the brake system installed except for the calipers because I can't afford my wheels yet. It is very possible I am thinking about it all wrong, though.

Thanks,
Mike

Go ahead and plumb/bleed your brakes then unbolt them and hang the calipers inboard.
