See the OLA hood in the below pic. Are the vent mods like this done by TiG weld? Or can it be done with flux core? In my minds eye I see the sharp corners being rounded where the horizontal hod meets the vertical filler piece. My thought was to cut 3 sides of the rectangle out of the hood, push the sheet metal down, trace out the resulting triangle on the side, cut it out of a separate sheet, then weld it into place to fill the gap. But what I cant get through my thick head is how to smooth it all out and still get the sharp corners as seen on the OLA hood.

it doesnt have to be welded it can also be done with epoxy glues. it that can be tig welded ....I've managed to tig weld tin foil so trust me you can do this . IF its mig welded use S6 by no means use flux core

Weld it on the backside. You can mig or flux core just get some practice pieces to get the heat right. Stitch weld it and move from one side to the other also have no panel gap to prevent warping. I'd put a small 90 bend on the edge of the triangles so you have a lap joint not an outside corner too. Hope that makes sense lol

Can anyone elaborate how s6 compares to ez grind 0.23 wire? I have been having issues with the weld blowing throught using my Lincoln 180hd 220v welder. O.P. not trying to steal the thread I think this will help you too.
