Hey all -
I got a phone call last night from an old friend who was in the process of adjusting the valves on newly assembled 416 motor. He asked me the question about how tight to adjust the hydraulic lifters. I told to take it to zero lash and crank them down 1/2 turn, which is what I normally do. He asked me what would happen if got them to tight? I honestly thought a minute and couldn't give him a good answer?
What would happen? Poor idle, increased friction, bent push rods.
Thanks, in advance, for your time.
Tony
