I found a car on Craigslist in the Dallas TX area but I'm in WI. I really want this car but I don't want to go get it so I'm looking for an HONEST dealer in the area that might be interested in purchasing the car then in turn I would buy it from them...for a fee of coarse. Would also need it shipped.

Or...what is the best way to do this short of picking it up in person? Are their services that specialize in these types of deals??

Might be easier to fly down and make the deal face to face and drive the car back.

It's suppose to be a drivable car but I don't think I would take the chance on a 1100 mile trip. I might have my brother in law talked into picking it up but he can't go until Nov and I won't send the guy any money to hold onto it...that's the biggest scam there is on Craigs.

I emailed Gas Monkey Garage because the car is a few miles down the road from them but only got their form email response. I figured Richard Rawlings would do anything for a buck!

Maybe grab a buddy and road trip it down together? Roadkill style? Where in WI are you located? I am in Oshkosh.

I'm not into long road trips, I wouldn't ride in a limo for 17 hours! LOL!

Humm, I must not have made much of an impression on you? We have talked several times, I'm up in Shawano. I'm building a 1971 Formula...LS2 swap, might even be able to fire it up for the 1st time this weekend?

Any PT members here live in that area who could look the car over for a fellow PT member?

The car is in Carrollton TX and Sunset looks to be an hour away. That's a lot to ask unless you go into that area a lot?

Please don't take it personally. I get a lot of PMs and emails, and sometimes I don't connect the user names. It would be helpful if people used their first name in their signature or when they post.

I live in Sunset, but I work in Ft Worth. It would not be a big deal. If I can help don't hesitate to ask.

I know you said its not your thing, but I've road tripped it twice now for purchases. They are two of the best memories I have with my wife and father/brother

I found a guy I felt I could trust down in Dallas and now I own the car, well at least its on its way to Wisconsin. A REAL 1973 Trans Am 4-speed, well now it has a T-5 in it. Anyone know how to get the speedo to work with the new 5-speed? Thanks to you guys that offered to help!

It should be as easy as putting the correct speedo gear on the cable.
