So four years ago I stuffed an LQ4 into my black 1968 Camaro. It had Ls3 Heads, cam, and was pushing a 4L80E. I purchased a 14 bolt rear end with a 9.5" ring gear with an eaton posi, narrowed it and put on 68 Camaro axle tube ends. Why an iron block, heavy trans, and big rear? Because I wanted a tank. A bullet proof car that made crazy horsepower but never broke anything. Something I could toss drag slicks on the back at some point without worrying that my rear end will grenade. Something I could beat on every day. Like an AK-47. Mean as hell, but you can dig a trench with it, and it will still shoot straight.

My build thread started here:

When it was done, I drove the car almost every day for a year.

Then then happened.

I bought an LSA supercharger. It was cheap.

I got tired of having no air conditioner in the car, so I ordered a Vintage Air kit a couple weeks ago. I took off the left fender in the garage. My fenders have some really great flares on both the front and rear - look at the thread above. I bought the car with them on there. It's just a rolled up fender lip with a metal strip tacked on and covered in bondo. Really pathetic.

This always happens:

So I decided that it is time. It is time to take her down to the bare metal, and start over. I was only going to do the outside, but then this happened:

As you can tell, I hadn't exactly taken the tie to get the car pretty. It has mostly GM parts, but it is dirty.

So I am going to fix all of that.

I've been asking for some advice around here and lurking for dozens of hours, and I am going to do as follows.

First, I have decided to keep the engine, and supercharger, as well as the rear end. But I am going to put in a T56 Magnum.
I am going to keep the stock front end, but I am going to add the Ridetech stuff - True Turn, upper a-arms, two stage coil overs.
I am going to keep the stock LT1 disk brakes I have for now.
I am going with the G-Link rear setup, if Chassisworks will help me figure out if it will work with my 14 bolt rear.
And I am going to mini-tub, and go with rims that will support tires like 335-30-19 rear & 275-35-18 front.

First things first. I am going to have the entire car media blasted and primed, getting rid of all the rust. The floor pans look solid, as do many other areas of the car, but I do get rust bubbles, and I am tired of repainting every few years.

But I do worry that the shape of the flares (which for me is a great feature of the car) will be lost. So I need to find a good METAL shop that can shape me some metal fender flares I can weld up to the quarters, and shape up the front panels to have the flares as well. Any one know any metal shops in South Florida that can do this? I prefer to at the flare BEFORE I go have it sanded and primed.
