I recently saw a TV commercial (don't recall the product) but the guy (star) drove a car that I didn't recognize at first but that looked really cool. I finally figured out that it's a mid 70s Olds Cutlass 442. This version has a very aerodynamic "sloping" nose piece and the the rear end was sort what they used to call a "fastback". It had little to no chrome and to a casual observer it looked a looked a lot like a "General Lee" 1970 Dodge Charger. I had forgotten what a cool cars these were. I think it would be a great Pro Touring car project. I believe that they had 350 CID V8s. A GM "A" body vehicle so most Chevelle and El Camino suspension parts from that era would fit .

76-77 442's had that sloping front bumper you're referring to.

Suspension pieces fit, but obviously Trim & Body are different which can lead to increased costs. When you are done, there is a smaller market for Olds vs. a Chevy if you want to sell.
There is a Interstate Battery Dealer here in Tampa that has about 15 Olds 442 sitting rotting away. If you visit Tampa and go to Busch Gardens, you can't miss them

What a shame, why don't people buy these and love and build's up sweet?!?!?? Instead of another 69 Camaro? I guess i've always just liked to be a little bit different. That's why I'm Pontiac and not Chevy Lionel O gauge and not HO.

I love these 442's. Beautiful cars. I almost bought one a few years ago at the Pomona swap meet. It was a really rare car. It was a base model with an Olds 260 V8 and a factory installed 5-speed manual!!! It was so cool. It needed some cosmetics, but was rust free and $3500. This would have been a perfect LS/t-56 swap project.
