Hi all...does anyone know what wheel brand is on the 66 Cobra in the Falken ads?

I'm sure glad that Bruce and Scott decided to run on the Falkens. If they were on BFGs they would have been a lot faster at the Nationals. Maybe the Corvettes in CAM will have a tad of a chance in shut'n down that little Cobra next year.

Pfft ^^^^, and if they would've been on Bridgstones they would've dominated.....I do believe those wheels are CCW's.

haha! Well wasn't expecting that ribbing. However...imma let you finish but Pirelli Corsas are the best tire ever. :)
Thanks for that. I did think they were Jongbloeds but didn't see spinners on their site.

99% driver you could put Scott in a shopping cart and you'd still have your hands full

Even with a spastic front wheel like you always get when shopping at Walmart.

I think Scott would disagree with that statement in a heart beat. We have been working hard all summer getting the handling to the level it is now. We have made over 20 major changes including geometry, shocks, spring rates, wheel sizes, tire brands, differentials, engine tune, and alignment specs since last year. Looking at our times vs Brian and Mary significant progress has been made from March to the present. That car is probably the most difficult to drive of any autox car I know of with 850 hp @ 2400 lbs and 632 lb/ft. I doubt that anybody other than Scott could even get it around early on, but it took hours of development time to get it where is today. It just proves that even with a really good power to weight ratio and the best driver out there, the car has to work to win. Tires are Bridgestone front and Rival rear so two of you are sorta right.

Interesting mix of front/rears. Any specific reason for that you wouldn't mind sharing?

Testing showed that the Rivals put power down very well but the construction of the 315x30x18 was not as precise in steering maneuvers as the 275x35x18 Bridgestone.
The Bridgestone puts power down very well too but goes into wheel spin at lower throttle levels than the Rival S. When a larger Bridgestone becomes available next year I think it will be as good or better than the current Rival S in 335. Both tires recover very quickly when spun vs the Falken which takes more time to achieve grip again. When I was testing the car on the Prosolo lights we got a 4.6 200' time which is pretty good for a rear drive street tire car, so we like the Rival S rear.

Rumor has it that the RivalS will sharpen up its response time for next year.

I see. Which others did you try out? I assume different widths were tried too. Didn't more narrow rear balance things out better or give better rotation?

We tried 315x18 Rivals and Falkens on the rear but the Bridgestone 275x35x18 was better than both for power and lateral grip. The 335x30x18 Rival S was the best for power down and about equal or slightly better in lateral to the Bridgestones. We can get what ever rotation we need through chassis adjustments no matter what rear tire we have. Tires are getting better every iteration, last year the Falkens were superior to Rivals in all our tests, this year they are behind. Rear rims are either 10.5 or 12" depending on the tire we use.
