I assume everyone saw this last week? I saw somewhere that Wes D. was working on something; is there that big of a demand for motorsports indy films? I know that we're having a hard enough time getting submissions for the "are you driver enough?" video contest....

OPTIMA Batteries Announces First-Annual Ultimate Film Festival
Enthusiasts Nationwide Invited to Submit Original Content; Winners to Be Unveiled During SEMA Show
September 2, 2015 (MILWAUKEE) – OPTIMA Batteries, the global leader in high-performance automotive and marine batteries and digital battery chargers, is leading the charge to gather and celebrate the most exciting and powerful performance automotive content in the world with the OPTIMA Ultimate Film Festival. Beginning today through October 5, automotive enthusiasts are invited to submit their unique and compelling automotive content to the OPTIMA Ultimate Film Fest panel of judges and for the chance to be featured in an upcoming MAVTV episode.
Entries can be submitted as short-form or action films, vying for the “Best in Show” and “Best Action Cam” awards, respectively. Three areas of criteria will guide judges in choosinging the best films, including compelling storytelling, authenticity and creativity – films should take a unique approach, be grounded in filmmaking and share true individual experiences.
“This initiative is about celebrating everything that makes the automotive performance industry great – emotional highs and lows, hold-on-to-your-hats performance and never-before-seen perspectives from passionate enthusiasts,” said Cam Douglass, marketing director at OPTIMA Batteries. “Now is the time for enthusiasts to show us what they’re made of, and we can’t wait to see the action and creativity in the submissions.”
Finalists’ films will be announced in late October, with an exclusive screening event on November 5, 2015 during the SEMA Show at the House of Blues, where industry peers will vote in real-time to choose the winners. Chosened filmmakers will receive two general admission tickets to the event. Films shown at the event will also be included in a one-hour TV special broadcast by MAVTV in 2016.
“As popularity for our ‘OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car’ series on MAVTV continues to grow, we recognized enthusiasts everywhere are craving action-packed stories from colleagues and peers,” said Douglass. “We’re thrilled to be spearheading this competitive initiative that will curate and celebrate the type of exciting, branded content making waves in the industry.”
Initial plans are underway to expand the program to qualifying Film Festival events in 2016, culminating in a final competition during SEMA. HOW DO I SUBMIT MY FILM?
1. You must review and accept the rules of the program at optimafilmfest and fill out the entry form.
2. You can submit your film(s) via three avenues - the U.S. Mail, the entry form if your file size does not exceed the limit or via WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox or Hightail. Links/files should be sent to [email protected]
3. When submitting your film via either option, you MUST provide your name, mailing address, phone number, email address and the name of your film.
Submission Specifications - U.S. Mail

Please mail all submissions to:
OPTIMA Ultimate Film Fest
c/o Gunpowder, Inc
PO Box 180255
Delafield, WI 53018

Please submit on a single disc, flash drive or hard drive. These are non-returnable and become the property of OPTIMA Ultimate Film Festival.
Physical discs may be submitted to us in three formats: Blu-ray disc, DVD, or dual- layer DVD. Please refrain from submitting multiple films on a single disc – if you do so, we will only view the first film on the disc. You do not need to include menus, trailers, production stills, or any other film clips on your disc. Our preference is to receive a Blu-ray or DVD that starts playing your film as soon as it is inserted. We would prefer that discs be sent in a simple paper sleeve in order to cut down on waste. It is of the utmost importance that you ensure that your film plays all the way through regardless of which submission format you select! Digital uploads should be viewed in their entirety before submitting the application, and please make sure that your Blu-ray or DVD plays in a standard Blu-ray/DVD player before it is mailed to us! Your disc must be authored as a Blu-ray or DVD – do not simply burn a video file to a disc as data.

Submission Specifications - Online

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE MY FILM OR CANNOT GET IT TO PLAY?
If we do not receive your film it will not be considered. If we cannot get it to play we will attempt to contact you. However, there is no guarantee that we will get your replacement in time, and we must give preference to those who posted a working video to begin with. For this reason we request that you make absolutely sure that your posted video plays in its entirety before you post or mail it.
