good wheel adaptors?

I've been hunting down some good hubcentric wheel adaptors so that I can use 4th gen wheels on my '69 firebird and I found these:

They look pretty good and are half the price of skulte adaptors (which are not hubcentric to the wheel). I am wondering if they are good. They are billit 6061 T6 alum w/ thickness of 1,1.25, and 2 inches. Skulte's adaptors are $140/pair and these are $75/pair.

Wheel adapters = bad.

Not to mention that 6061 is still a little soft for anything that might see some actual performance use.

i have billet STEEL wheel adapters on my dually, and short of spending a bazzillion $$ getting a custom width floater 1 ton rearend... it seemed like the way to go. performance....no... but i do haul a 40' 12,000lb 5th wheel with no problems.

if you HAVE to run adapters, then give the guy at wheeladapters.com a call, he likes to overkill the stuff he makes, custom stuff is no prob either.

I got a set of wheel adapters a while back. They were supposed ot be hub centric. What I got was a set of non hub centric with some rings that fit inside. The rings didn't fit right.

It was such a hassel to bolt them on, double check, dismount the wheels and retorque later. Also, the stud sizes on the disks and the spacers were different. I didn't like to worry if they were adequate, either.

I went out and ordered a set of new wheels that fit right. Now I am happy. Skip they adapters and get a proper fitting wheel.

I have been running adaptors for over 10 years now with almost no problems. The only problem I had was run lug spun in the adaptor. Since I replaced it and coated the lugs with antiseize, I have not had any further problems.

I use adaptors from Vette Brakes to run 4th gen wheels on my 2nd gen. If I was autocrossing or running track events, I may reconsider, but for street use I have had absoulutely no worries about strength. After I remove them, I will recheck the torque at about 100 miles to be safe and after that no worries. They have never loosened up.
