Hello everyone, I've been learning a lot from all the great posts here as I begin to make plans for my 1965 Chevelle.

My vision is to have a great handling daily driver, capable of shredding windy Minnesota lake roads. I plan to upgrade my suspension, brakes, steering, wheels & tires.

My hope is to do enough research, and gain enough knowledge to avoid any major buyer’s remorse related to expensive performance products and upgrades. With that said, any advice/feedback is always appreciated. I've read several posts where members talk about the decisions they would have made if they knew then, what they know now.

Thank you,

Joehttps://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=116792&stc=1https://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=116791&stc=1https://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=116793&stc=1https://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=116794&stc=1https://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=116795&stc=1

Cool 'Bu

I'll step in with my 2 cents worth. I've got a 65 elCamino. Added some frame stiffeners, opened the rear frame for more tire width, using AFX spindles, SPC upper and lowers, Lee steering box, BMR rear trailing arms, Fayes Watts. LS2, T56, Ford 9"

If i were starting again, i would not go down the path I am now on. Looking at it realistically, from an economic standpoint, where I'm headed, I think i would have been better served with a Schwartz or similar sftermarket frame. Add up the uprights, front control arms, frame stiffening and rear frame narrowing kits- you're half way there.

I'm suggesting makin' a list, checkin' it twice, then figure the cost difference between what it takes to update the existing 'bu chassis vs. the cost of an aftermarket piece. Sure the aftermarket frame has a big price of admission, but in my case it would have been pay me once or, or pay me once, then pay me again, then pay me again... you get the drift.

Anway, diggin' the car, hope whatever road you take, you end up happy.

Thanks everyone...I've looked at some chassis, schwartz, etc., and of course I love them, but I wonder if I would really need that with the typ of use I plan on. I definately agree though, I'd much rather go for a one and done type situation. Mostly because my lack of time, knowlege and ability :)
