Hello, all. Long time car freak, first time poster. I have spent some of my life working in shops; specifically Sakowski Motors and a little with Mercury Charlie in Austin and ProComp in Pittsburgh. Otherwise I just modify my own stuff. Specific strengths are in driveline engineering but I dabble in a bit of everything. The one thing you don't want me touching is a pail of Bondo or a paint gun. I am the world's worst body man.
Anyway, current projects include a 67 LeMans convertible, 66 Bonneville, and a 96 Impala SS.
The Bonneville has been through a few iterations. It started out as a clapped out driver with a 389. I eventually put a torque-monster Caddy 500 in it. Right now it is getting body work done after a complete soda blast and then it will eventually get a diesel. Most likely a Duramax, unless I can rob a bank and do a 6.7L Powerstroke.
The Impala SS is just a daily driver for now. I lowered it with intentions of doing some other modifications and autocrossing it, but I never got bitten by the autocross bug. Its mostly stock otherwise except for 4.10 gears in preparation for a T56 swap. .... and about 3000 watts of audio.
The 67 LeMans is my dream ride. My all-time favorite car is a 67 GTO convertible... which is why I specifically sought out the LeMans. I didn't see the need to spend three times as much purchasing a car that I was going to tear apart and alter anyway. I'll likely be asking the most about the LeMans.
I live kinda everywhere, but the garage is in Carlisle, PA. Stop by for a beer.
