I saw the video a few days ago. It absolutely amazes me that Bruce wasn't hurt anymore than he was. That crash is a real testament to how far safety has come in just a couple of decades.

Yea that crash was bad.
My dad saw it in person said it was amazing that he lived.
If he had gotten hit on the driver side I think he probably died just from looking at the way the car got ripped in half.

I think the most horrific ever was earlier this year when the lady (name escapes me) top alchohl dragster power standed, fliped, pointing back up track, knocked her out, pedal hung wide open, and she hit her chase truck at speed at the starting line, killing herself and her son in the chase truck.

Now that was horrific!

Can you imagine being in the staging lane when the dragster turned around and came back at them, thats insane! When I read that story I felt sick for her family.

You forgot to mention, her son was handicapped and could not get out of the truck. Her husband and other son had to stand and watch as the rail hit the truck at over 200mph and pushed it thru the staging lanes wall and into the drainage ditch. BAD, BAD weekend!

If that story gets any worse I dont want to know about it.

I heard a story about a family reunion in new england, when it was over the cars followed each other off an embankment in the fog, six or seven carloads, no one survived, the entire family including cousins gone.

That story still freaks me out.

Get off the laptop and concetrate on the road!! It's very unwise to attend internet forums while driving cross country at breakneck speeds!
