Differential swap A body gm

How long does it take to swap a differential in an A body gm car? I'm putting in a 12 bolt and removing the 10 bolt. I'm just curious on how much time I should set aside. Don't include bleeding. I'm a mechanic by trade so my skill level is semi high. I haven't had the pleasure of doing one yet. Thank you

Super fast a easy ...2-3 hours when I did mine in a driveway with hand tools

Four bolts on the control arms, two bolts for the shocks, the brake line, and it is out.

I didn't want to bleeding the brakes so I pulled the axles and removed the 4 bolt per backing plate....when it had drums
Andrew, don't forget he will probably have have driveshaft as well...4 more bolts.

Awesome. I have pretty wicked electric impacts. Glad to hear it's fast. One person should be able to handle it right. The axle I bought is complete from disc to disc. Just picked up a built 1965 chevelle 3.07 gear,posi, moser cover, all brake lines, and new disc for 1600.00. I'm so stoked. Perfect gear for my 474 Pontiac. All the doffs out here in California are 2k or higher for just the diff.

Yeah you shouldn't have a problem doing it yourself. A second set of hands never hurts though. As I said earlier I did it in my driveway on my back with hand tools so shouldn't be a issue for you

Got it in and you were right. Took about 2.5 hours. The diff fit great. I didn't even need to get new 1310/1330 u joint. The diff had the same joint as my 10 bolt. 3.07 posi with a 474ci roller. Now it just needs to be painted.
