After this episode, we're half way done... If you haven't watched or recorded the Big Red documentary series, there's no better time to start! There's some amazing mountain road footage you won't want to miss! If you don't have cable, go to your favorite pub or friend's house and watch it. :)
Here's a little taste.

Looking forward to seeing it! Hoping to catch our 68 Road Runner in the background somewhere! It's been a great series so far and a long time coming. Great job guys!

The show's been getting better! Definitely liked the Willow Springs vintage race. And this is definitely giving me bad ideas. Now I'm thinking I need a spare mountain motor Pontiac as another option on a stand to go along with my 455, haha!

That was a great episode. Very impressive times! Did you really tell your insurance agent that Big Red was stock?

And they actually believed it?

Boy that takes GUTS to run up that hill at those speeds a very dangerous place. Great job, especially for never having been there before. Looked like the only cars that beat Big Red were boosted, NA is tough at that altitude with carbs!

Hotchkis,
I hope you watched the episode and saw the Hotchkis Road Runner. I believe Dan was also shown towards the end too. ;)

Cobra,
Thanks! It was a great event. Track experience went far on the hill. Having a beast like Big Red is also a big help. ;)
Running a carb with that elevation (and with changes) can be tough. We've never installed fuel injection because our Bonneville class keeps us from doing so. One has to wonder if the time would have been better with EFI.

Gary and Steve,
Thanks! :) Big Red still has the original 1969 trunk weatherstrip... In order to run the event, we had to have insurance to drive the return road...which was a public highway. The team keeps everything working and road worthy in the chance that something like this comes up.

This post kind of goes along with a question I had... is this going to be a show with a potential for more seasons? Or just a one-time, kind of mini-series event? I noticed that this season runs quite a number of years, back to 2011 it looks like? Kind of hard to keep a yearly show going at that rate!

Man awesome show! I am looking forward to the next one. I like how know matter what is done to it for a race, y'all keep the body true to its original look as possible. It does get a little ugly for the salt flats though... lol

I am confused, now that you guys have gone the boosted route with great success 234 mph, why not take the next step. IE get rid of that big block and install a Duttweiler twin turbo small block using fuel injection and making 1000 hp more. RJ could get his favorite low profile hood back and you could really blow every bodies doors off for good. I was amazed that you achieved what you did with a blow through carb set up but now that you dropped NA why not really go for it?
