I always ask questions instead of answering and there's always questions about what fits etc so I thought I would be proactive. I have a 68 Firebird Convertible with Hotchkis X Brace, Holley oil pan (had to shim on one side as its the old pan) Holley headers and cross brace. I had a CPP brace but I had to weld on extensions to mount it only to realize it would block the exhaust on one side. It would work with exhaust manifolds but whatever. I was pleased to find that the header cleared on the Holley unit only to find it blocked the other header. So I cut the crap out of it. Cut too much. Also had to hog out the trans mount holes but the instructions said that might happen. Good thing is it fits really tight the floor. Really tight.
When looking for the exhaust I kept reading "will not work with convertible". The x-pipe on this system works great with the x brace. My e-brake on the other hand not so much but it only needs to work once. I have an auto.
Its a tight awesome fit everywhere even back at the fuel tank. I'm going to wrap my fuel lines. The return line is rubber so its probably best I wrap them.
The sound is good and bad. There is no drone. None. I don't have a cam in it so there's no lump and it doesn't have that deep mellow tone I would like but its a transverse muffler and it may open up a bit. Sounds great when you are out passing cars. I'll take ground clearance over tone.
Here's the pics. The pipes fit closer in the crossmember than they look. The last pic is embarrassing. Don't know why it always doubles my pics?

I caught this post this morning and think I can add some info that will help you guys better understanding the fitment you have experienced with the Hooker crossmembers in your cars.

Icemanrd19, the Hooker crossmembers are only designed for use with stock sub-fames, stock height body mounts and floors that have the pockets in the floors located above the crossmember as present in the stock floor panels. If all those fitment conditions are met, then the Hooker crossmember you are using will bolt right in as shown in the 1st photo (it's a TH400 application, but the crossmember is the same as the one you are using.

Ishmael, you are using the Hooker 12645HKR 4L60 crossmember with the older Hooker 2288HKR headers and the Holley 302-1 oil pan...that is a combination of parts that was not accommodated for in the design of the Hooker crossmember. The newer Hooker 2275HKR and 2276HKR headers are the only part numbers that were designed specifically for use with the Hooker 1st-gen crossmembers and when they are both used together with the Hooker 12618HKR engine brackets and Hooker exhaust systems you will achieve the correct fitment of all the parts under the car as shown in the 2nd photo.
