Hey guys i'm getting some stuff stockpiled for the fall and winter projects on my 67 GTO. One of those things is going to be all new wiring. I'm looking to do modern blade fuses and eventually ill be adding EFI, electric fans, and an electric fuel pump, an amp and sub woofer amongst the vintage air, speedhut gauges and Retro sound radio I already have. I have already updated my alternator to a 150A unit as well.
With all that said, what kit do you think I should be going with? American Autowire? Ron Francis? Some setup ive never heard of?
Please post up opinions and reviews of those kits and others i'm maybe missing.

I used an AAW Classic Update kit in my 64 GTO. It went together easily without any issues. I have used the AAW update kits on a couple of cars and will continue to use them.

Check with M&H. They make GREAT harnesses if you are looking for original. I got all my harnesses for my 67 Bird from them.

I used AAW for my Chevelle., and I couldn't be happier. This was my first time wiring anything, and the instructions were well laid out and their phone support was awesome when needed.

I used a partial M&H harness before,it was very nice and already wrapped with the correct tape.
Last Summer I installed a complete AAW update harness in my 68 Camaro, I was very happy with the install. Go ahead and just buy the crimpers while you're at it.

I have one of their harnesses on my engine right now. If I was doing a stock resto I would use them in a minute but literally everything electrical about my car is going to end up custom so that's a no go for the M&H

Sweet. Did you have to hack the firewall at all to make the fuse panel fit? Are they a removable bulkhead like the stock engine/headlight harnesses?

I did have to trim the firewall to fit the late model fusebox, but it wasn't difficult. The bulkheads are removable so they may be installed one at a time, and then when finished removed to allow the unused wires to be pulled out.
