On the 1st gen Camaro's, you can install the coil springs and tighten the spindle in place before installing the shocks right? What torque do the nuts need to be tightened to when installing the spindles? (upper and lower ball joint nuts).

yes you can, I usually tighten the lower first then push the spindle in and put in the upper shaft...can't remember exactly but I go 60 upper nut and 75 lower nut. I like to loosely install the shock just incase my supports fail and the spring brakes loose... I had a bad experience ...

Thanks!... Just curious how you installed the spring? Spring tensioner? I used a ratchet strap (with a second strap around in case first strap broke) to get the old ones off and was going to use the same technique when reinstalling the new ones.

give you a hint...to remove a floor jack, 2ft of chain and a pry bar...to install a floor jack 2 ft of chain and a 4ft piece of ridgid(not the thin stuff) 1/2" conduit with a 15degree bend at the last 4" of it.
I've been doing it for a long time and you really don't want to know....everyone please use the correct type spring compessor.
