Still working on my front brake upgrade and ran into a problem. I have one steering arm bolt frozen between the stock spindle and steering arm.
So far it's withstood a ball joint press and a 6 lb hammer. Hasn't budged. It's currently sitting in penetrating oil and loaded with the ball joint press.
I can live without the spindle since it's common and getting replaced anyway but are there any other ideas before I notch and crack the spindle boss to get this thing out?

Heat with a torch & a strong impact wrench usually works for me. The impact wrench shakes loose the rust pretty well.

Oh....
The bolt head is already ground off. It was trashed and a socket wouldn't go over it. I made it halfway and was able to separate the spindle and steering arm. Now I just have a frozen stud through the part I need - the steering arm. At least now I can try rotating the free ends with vice grips. Failing that its now easy enough to manage that I can bring it in to work and use a really big press or machine it out.

World's greatest penetrating oil is a 50/50 mixture of ATF and acetone -- by far -- a million times better than anything else!!!!

grind it off smooth and start drilling it out a little bit at a time, takes a little time but worth it in the end

I would think it would come with enough heat...you have a torch?

I have a torch.

No issues with material property changes on the cast part?

Got it. Heat and a slightly smaller hammer.

Needed to keep the arm intact. I no longer need the extra brake boss but it is essential to reinstalling the factory disc brakes.

Best over the counter penetrant hands down, Cyclo Breakaway,,,,, next best Kano Labs Aero Kroil or Kano Kroil.
Both work well but for my money the Cyclo is what I converted my shop to,,,, we used to use PB but I took in one can of Breakaway, and sold EVERYONE now we pay MORE for breakaway. Check your local Fastenal store.
And both don't STINK like most penetrants.
