I posted in the wanted section of this board. "wanted: 73 Amc Javelin 401/auto close to Indiana.
I did end up finding a one that was a 73 360/auto with 72,000 original miles on it and purchasing it and just got back from the long haul from Indiana to St. louis, MO. then driving it back to Indiana. almost identical to the one i was looking for but only the wrong size motor....no biggie.
i bought this for my aunt that is gonna have me and my father restore it back to the same condition/look of the one my uncle had back in the mid 70's and still talks about it to this day.
these two first pictures are actual pictures of my uncles old car taken back in the 70's

and here are some pics of the actual car i found for her and went and purchased it this past saturday (10-22-05)
definetly should be a very easy restore and finish quickly.
she is giving him the car on their 25th wedding anniversary next october....so we have a year to get it done.
what puzzles me about these cars is why some people find them appealing.....ewww! :hmm:

this last picture shows that this one even had the same identical side stripes that the previous owner removed.

the absolute only rust on this car is in the rear quarter wheel well lips and behind the rear wheels in the lower sections of the rear quarters.....mind boggling how rust free this car is!
