Hello Everyone, I purchased my dream car six months ago. A 1969 Camaro Z/28 clone. The car is complete with a 396 big block. All though I love the traditional American muscle car. I think I want to go another route on this build. I want to build a pro touring car. I want to be able to drive this car on the track and go on a road trip if I like.
To start off my build I just bought a 2013 Camaro ZL1 (LSA)motor and 6 speed Manuel transmission. I think that is a great start to my project, but I am going to need help on what set up to run suspension wise. I am on a budget due to the $$$ I dropped on the motor and tranny. Any recommendations on upper and lower control arms (brands) rear suspension coil overs. What rear end I should use and gears. I know I will need some big brakes I need help with brands to go with, size of rotors? Are Wilwood brakes good brakes?

I would appreaciate any help I can get to lead me in the right direction for my build.

Thank you. Rick

Welcome Rick! I know that you are on a Budget (all of us are), but you need to identify a number and also a timeline.

We have a Great Torque Arm system that utilizes Coilovers and you can upgrade to a 9" rearend.

Wilwood is a good Brand of Brakes.

A lot of people here use Kore3 for brakes, and it seems like there's nothing but positive feedback from them on the service. As far as front suspension goes, a kit with tubular control arms, spindles, coilovers & a swaybar cost pretty much in the same ballpark if you get single adjustable shocks. As for rear suspension, either a torque arm or a 4-link is the most common route.
Popular choices for suspension here are Detroit Speed, Speedtech, RideTech, Art Morrison, Chris Alston, Total Cost Involved (TCI), etc.

If you check out the Project Updates section you can see what other people with Camaros are using for suspension to get some ideas of the proven setups.

One thing you will need to decide is if you are going to use the stock subframe or go with an aftermarket subframe. If you keep the stock subframe I would recommend you take a look at Ridetech bolt on suspension kits. If you decide to go with an aftermarket subframe I recommend DSE. I also recommend that you spend some time reading the Project Updates section and suspension section for ideas on what other members are doing.

you need to define your budget, as suspension cost and brake cost can be mild to wild. We as a board can better help with more information.
