Hey folks, just wanted to publically thank Laramie and the good people at Precision Brakes Company for helping me out with my Mustang SEMA project. They have been great to work with and very helpful. I received my front and rear 14" brake kits from them this week and it's absolutely jaw-dropping. :jawdrop:
The 4-piston Superlite calipers are beautiful and have the PBC logo engraved on them and I was fortunate enough to get their all-new "Mr. Parker" parking brake caliper for my rear kit. It looks amazing!
Their rotors are also top notch. I went ahead and chose to run drilled and slotted rotors though, I believe you have your choice of blank, slotted, drilled, or drilled and slotted. The rotors are beautiful and really light.
All in all I can't say enough good things about the looks of the kit and the company itself. I will be installing the brakes this week and will be sure to post pics as soon as they're on!
For now, here are some pics of the kit laid out on a sheet on my living room floor. (The perks of being single!)
Hope you all enjoy the pics! If you're looking for a big brake upgrade, be sure to let Laramie know and he'll help you out! He posts on this board, but you can also reach him at (866) 992-7253.

Okay, okay, it was kind of on purpose. It was between that one and the one with the Mopar on the cover...call me biased, but I picked mine!
Anyway, this is about the brakes, not the mag. :slap:

Their prices are attractive, and the kits look quite complete. But, is their stuff re-badged PBR parts with a nice powdercoat, or is there something to it that I don't get if I grab some parts off a wrecked C-5?

Their calipers are Wilwood Superlites, but they manufacture their rotors and parker calipers and are engineering a TON of great kits for all kinds of cars right now.

Kris, not to steal the thread, cause the precision guys are great, but did you get the new shoes yet :dunno: Will the original wheels fit over this brake kit?
I can not wait to see the total package, even if it isn't a first gen camaro.lol

As far as regular pricing, Precision brakes are competitively priced and they often build bolt on kits others do not offer. It is top shelf stuff. I am with bill, i cannot wait till those Forgelines get there to help show those brakes off.
Dang!! I wish I too was somebody in the "industry" maybe you can hook me up? maybe i can become the next Booty coddington!! :drive2:

Despite how fast the aftermarket industry is growing, it's still a VERY small world. Everyone seems to know everyone...
Make friends, keep them close, help them out, and don't rub anyone the wrong way, and you're well on your way.

Man i don't begrudge people for getting a free ride but that statement is just a blatant poke in the eye to the consumer ....

while frank coulda worded it better, it boils down to advertising. By virtue of kris's tie-ins with magazines, press coverage is a given, so product venders give up parts in exchange for a shout out in the book and or a sticker on the windsheild. This is the way sponserships have worked forever. Consumers are supposed to look at a finshed car, and think "me too" and run out and buy it, without ever questioning where the owner of said finished car got those parts/wheels & tires etc.
It's just the nature of the game.

Well put Tony. Unfortunatley now it's split about 50/50. Instead of a sponsored car stirring intrest in the parts, there are some that are jealous and will bash the car. It's kind of stupid.
I consider myself very lucky with all the press I've gotten and it has definitely helped me in my quest for sponsors.
