1967 mustang + c5 suspension

I have been thinking about getting the subframe with the suspension from a corvette c5. I know a couple have done it, I'm just surprised more people haven't done it. I know it requires more modification than swapping a mustang 2 style suspension, but the corvette route seems like it would be way more cost and performance efficient. Id love any feedback (as long as it doesn't have to do with the fact that it's chevy parts on a ford) lol

Are you talking about front suspension only, or transaxle and everything?

To custom make a front clip that would work in a mustang is very time consuming since nobody makes a kit, and the performance difference between other suspension systems and the C5 stuff isn't really worth it since there's so many options out there including our full chassis system.

Do it! I'm presently wrestling with applying a C4 (chassis/brakes/suspension/steering) to my Falcon, after which it will get a 5.3 LS engine...

I was unaware you couldn't use the c5's cradle. I know the wheel base hub to hub is different, but I thought it was still possible to be able to get it to fit with a little fabbing. As far as the composite leafs go, if I do go this route I'm not sure if I'll keep it or switch to a coil over system. Another reason I want to go this way, is to utilize the corvette brakes + steering rack.

I see a lot of people going the c4 route, I think the spacing difference is only half an inch wider on the corvettes part, but how much of a benefit is it to go c4 setup? It seems like it wouldn't be worth the trouble. Are you doing anything to improve the c4's suspension?

Not sure how much you plan on spending on the stock C5 stuff, but Detroit Speed's alumaframe front suspension set up for Mustang is worth a look.
