Hi everyone,

This may seem a bit broad of a question but I would like to know what would be a good small truck that I could use to modify into (at least in appearance) a "stock-truck" of sorts. Anyone have any Ideas as to what particular truck can be used that will be cost efficient etc. I'm not looking for a complete overhaul, just something a bit unique. (a v-8 block coupled with a 5-speed would be my preferred choice as far as the engine and trans go).

The following link will show you what I have in mind:

This is what I would like to build one day, but for now the link above shows what I am currently wishing to accomplish:

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.

I think the body style of the second truck pulls of a "stock racing" look better. That's the 88-98 Chevy c1500. Can pick em up fairly cheap if you find a deal. Came with a 5 SPD trans also. Not that old either so wouldn't necessarily need a full restoration. Find one with decent miles and a 305 or 350 and 5 SPD , throw some wheels and tires on it , a flip kit in the rear and springs and spindles on front and hit up a company that does wraps and you could have your look you want easy and economically .
