Hey guys, I have the Nova at a friend's house so he can do some body work for me. Someone rear ended me a few years ago so he's gonna be replacing some metal back there and I always wanted to move the filler up to the tail panel, so I figure now is the perfect time. I'm looking for pictures of a stock 67-68 setup just to see what it looked like from the factory. I saw a thread somewhere where someone basically cut a hole in the trunk and put like a gasket/o-ring in the hole to keep the metal from rubbing a hole in itself. I've seen pictures of trunk pans in parts catalogs, so I know the factory had a cleaner design than that.

I'm mainly interested in the trunk latch and how the fuel filler passes through it.

Thanks guys.

Matt,

Check out my build thread. There are a few pics showing what I did to recess mine back to accommodate the new fuel door. I need to post some pics of how I cut the trunk floor out and ran the fuel filler tube to the tank. I found the perfect angled rubber grommet through Steele Rubber. I'll look back through my notes, but I think it was originally for a 40's or 50's truck. I'll try and pic some pics so you can see what I mean. My Camaro is buried in my garage, as our kitchen is being remodeled.

Thanks, that helped a bit. My buddy isn't at that part yet, he's doing other stuff on the car for now. I can't believe it's this hard to find pics of that area. Googling anything with "camaro" usually turns up like 5000 pictures, but trying to find pics of the fuel filler is like a deserted wasteland lol.
