Hey guys -
I have had a soft spot for an early 70's split bumper Camaro for a long time. Anyway while cruising through the internet I happened to come upon one in Staten Island (I live in Queens). Exterior and Engine have just been redone and are in great shape - there is NO RUST on this car and with the 4-speed and 4:10s it downright boogie's. The interior needs a complete redo, but the owner had ALL the parts in boxes - new headliner, new dash pad, 4-speed center console, rear seats, new front spoiler, all emblems, also have all locks and doors panals - EVERYTHING - it just needs to be put back together. I have this thing ripping up the pavement in no time.
The owner wanted $8500.00... I walked away with it for $6250.00 so I think I did ok.. whattya' ya'll think?
Specs are as follows:
- 1970 Camaro z28 Clone
- 350 Small Block .040 over
- 520 lift cam / .292 duration
- Single plane intake
- 750 Demon Race carb.
- Full MSD ignition
- 4-speed M-21 Muncie
- Centerforce clutch
- 4:10 gears with 10 bolt rear
- Moser axles
- Compton Engineering 3 way adjustable shocks
- 4 wheel disc brakes
Just thought I'd share - best part is the wife can drive it and she loves the car - she'll be bangin' gears right next to me next season!

My thoughts if I had been with you: "Uh, hey dude......from the looks of the graffitti, this may not be the best place to take these photos.....let's get out of here before we get jacked. You sure that's a real pink slip? Wish I was packin."
j/k Looks like a great find.....now I want one too.

First off thanks for all the comments - ya' know I don't what I am going to do with it yet. The Charger is already set-up pro-touring style so I don't know what to do with the Camaro. The car was set up to be a straight line runner - it even has line-loc hooked up, but the owner started to turn it back into a street car - i.e. doing the 4 wheel disc conversion and so fourth. The car is not a real Z28 or Split bumper for matter, but who cares? I bought this thing to have some fun with. Either way, when I'm done with the car it will be something to look at - at least the tail lights anyway.
As for where the pics where taken - Dude, that's my backyard! I grew up in Brooklyn and live in Queens now - plus at 6'4 235lbs the neighborhood punks know to leave my stuff alone.

Congrats on the purchase, Mike. Nice car!! Looks like an awesome deal, too. I love the color scheme, it's very similar to what my '68 will be when done.
Also, :lmao: at the grafitti comments. Mike, I think we need to drive through East New York and Bed. Sty. and get some pics of some neighborhoods you really don't want to break down in. ha.

$6250.00 and it matches the Charger. This kind of luck and the guy calls himself MrAngry?????????
Looks like you scored big Mike. Put the interior together and drop a TKO into it to give it some legs :drive: . If the little woman doesn't want it I'm sure you could make a dime or two on it, right Steve? :naughty:

Thanks guys -
I was working on it last night - I pulled the carpet out and started cleaning up the interior. I will be a lot of fun when it's done - I think for now I am going to make it more of a street racer. The 4-speed muncie really is a lot of fun, I'll putting a new exhaust on it next week as well as some new tires, probably some old skool BFGs. The interior will look like new when I'm done with it - I'll be taking before and after pics as the work progresses on it, so I'll post some more this weekend.
Also if anyone needs an extra car for a cruise day - the Camaro is available (at least it will be in 2 weeks).
Mike
