Hey everyone,

Well.. I've made a couple of posts, and everyone probably thinks I'm full of hot air by now, but I came across a guy who builds eninges up in New England that can give me some killer prices. We're trying for 650hp (hopefully enough to get me into the 10's) based on an intercooled supercharged P-1SC 377ci. What do you all think? It includes the following:

Short Block
-Little M 400 w/ 4.125" bore size w/ billet main caps
-Billet 6.125" Crower rods (I am going to talk to him about going down in size here for durability)
-Lunati Forged Crank 3.500" stroke
-Wiesco forged pistons

-Melling oil pump
-Comp Cams roller cam (maybe custom ground)
-Manley pro series push rods
-Mahle supercharger rings
-Cometic MLS head gaskets
-Comp cams roller lifters
-Hamburger 7qt. baffled oil pan
-Felpro oil gasket
-Rollmaster billet timing chain

Cylinder Heads
-AFR 210cc heads w/ stainless intakes and exhausts
-ARP Studs
-Comp cams valve springs
-Lunate 1.65 full roller rockers

-AFR polished intake
-MSD plug wires
-MSD billet distributor
-Autolite spark plugs
-Custom AED 850cfm blower carb

Well, that was a mouthful. My question is, what do you prefer for your brands? At this point they are pretty much interchangible. I've been leaning towards Oliver Rods, but Weisco... JE/SRP? For the crank... Lunati? Callies? I was leaning towards a Dragonslayer.

I want this to appeal to as many people as possibly oviously if I ever want to sell it... so would a Callies crank sound better? I wanted billet, but I don't have that extra $1000 to spare :(.

So what do you all think? All comments welcome.

First thing, I would ditch that puny P1 and get at least a D1sc, thats going to build a lot more hp than anything else.

Avoid wiesco pistons, never had great luck with them. JE or Ross are both very good.

Oliver rods are awesome but you pay for it and at 650hp totally unnecessary. Run a good forged production rod (H-beam would be safer) and it will be fine.

The dragonslayer cranks hold up very well to a lot of abuse, billet is nice but $$$$$$$. If your not trying to make 1k hp I wouldnt bother.

Have you decided on compression yet?

Why only 210 heads?

I know the billet rods aren't necessary but it would be nice to have that extra security. I agree that a billet crank isn't necessary, but I would feel better at 7k RPM at the strip with billet rods.

I am going to try to spring for the D-1SC, but this is kind of stretching my budget at the moment.

For the heads, I could spring for some ported Dart Pro 1's at 230cc, but I don't have the flow numbers here, but I believe the exhaust numbers are better on the AFRs. AFR doesn't make a bigger SBC head than the 210cc I believe.

Compression is probably going to be around 9.0 with the intercooler, but that is still TBA.

So for the crank... I could go with Eagle, Lunati, or Callies. The Eagle won't save me very much and the Callies won't cost much more.

Thanks everyone,
Max

Oops... I don't know why I kept posting 210cc. I really meant 220cc :).
