MavTv on Dish Network

I'm posting this here because I'm sure most of you on the pro-touring.com enjoy watching optimas street car series on MavTv. Dish is in a contract dispute with MavTv and has dropped the channel.


We have so few Motorsports channels left. I called Dish today to cancel my service as I was going to switch to direct tv. I spoke with a very cool representative who told me Dish is getting flooded with calls and requests to bring MavTv back. He said if they get enough requests they will surely bring it back. He told me to pass the word so that's what I'm doing.


Mods if this shouldn't be posted here I understand. If anyone has Dish and wants MavTv back, take 5 minutes to go to my dish.com or call them.

Funny you mention this. I called yesterday. They assured me it would be back. I have my doubts. Supposedly MavTV is asking for more money than they are getting from DirecTV and the cable network that carries them.

I have called twice to ask for the channels return. Guy I spoke with said each call is documented and may help bring MAVTV back.

FYI. MavTv is not broadcast in HD on DirecTV. I don't watch the show just because of this fact. Can't stand SD.

Same here. I've gotten so used to HD, anything not broadcast in it is painful to watch. I'm missing a lot of good shows because of this unfortunately.

Same here. V8 super Cars, Perrelli World Challenge and others I have recorded to watch later only to delete minutes in after trying to get used to it in SD. Its a shame. I want to watch and support the channel but feel trapped. If I do watch it, Direct tv will think Im accepting of their choice to not air it in HD. I've called and complained but I dont think its going anywhere.
