Hey guys,

just saw on front page of pro-touring ridetechs 48 hour corvette build taking 1st place at Texas.

Who built the chassis etc for that car? Couldn't seem to see it through the article and I thought ridetech only provided shock's etc rather than building entire cars... maybe I missed it/something.

Well, I can tell you first hand that Ridetech does build complete cars. My Camaro "Velocity" is just one example. The 48 hour Corvette was completely built at Ridetech. That is not to say that there were not many people involved with that build but it was all built at Ridetech. Bret and the guys use those cars to test and refine their suspension components. What better way to know how they fit and perform than to actually build cars with them and then race them all over the country? They do not build complete cars for the public but their cars are top notch all the way...as are their parts.

They have built numerous shop cars that they take out and flog in a variety of different events. I don't think they do customer builds.

So did they design the entire chassis etc themselves the way that ridetech 33 hotrod was made or do they use other peoples designed chassis like Shwartz Performance etc and then assemble and so forth in their own shop?

Do those cars run full frames like Shwartz do or have they taken a different approach?

The chassis under the 48 Hour Corvette is the stock C3, the rest of the suspension is our bolt on package. We don't do public builds any longer, the cars that you're seeing now (like Velocity, the 48 Hour Corvette and Camaro, 33 Ford, etc.) are ones that we've done for the company over the years. A couple of them have been sold, so they're starting to be seen out in public more.

The 33 was a full custom build, done by Ridetech. All of the other cars we run, don't have a custom chassis, they're running the stock ones with bolt on parts. The components we build are designed to be something that a person can bolt on to their stock car, without having to buy a whole new frame, and go out and compete with the best of the best.
