Getting rid of Corvette logo on C5 Z06 calipers

Has anyone milled off or ground off the Corvette logo on a set of C5 Z06 brake calipers ? Since my calipers haven't sold I am starting to think I should just clean them up , sand them down and Cerakote them graphite black to match my trim and give it a bit cleaner look .

I "modified" my C6 calipers to say "Chevelle" and it turned out really cool. But to answer your question it's aluminum so it mills off really easy, up to you if you want to do it or not.

put a 60 grit flap wheel on your 5" grinder, grind it off, then follow up with some hand sanding with 120/220 and paint er.

I feel like I read somewhere that one of the newer GTO years has functionally the same calipers without the corvette script. I am not positive on the details but might be worth more research.

The 2005/6 GTO applications shared the front caliper design with the C6 Corvettes, but had "GTO" stenciled lettering on the face instead of the raised "CORVETTE" lettering. In that sense, pistOlpete is correct that you would have less work involved to do what you're proposing.

if you grind it off yourself don't breath in the dust, it will probably kill you. . . eventually lol

I work in construction , I almost guarantee I am breathing something that will kill me . Hell , you breathe air long enough it will kill you .

I generally wear a dust mask when sanding and grinding though :) My plan if the calipers aren't sold by tonight is to mill the logo off , sand the area smooth and then sandblast them clean before coating them .
