View Full Version : Lowering springs loose at full droop

With my current Hyperco rear springs and Edelbrock IAS shocks, when lifting the car by the frame and allowing the axle to fully droop... the springs have no pressure on them and could fall out. While this situation is very unlikely on the street, I wonder if I should address it.

The car is probably lowered about 2"or more. Are shorter shocks the answer?

I was looking at the RideTech RQ and HQ shocks as an upgrade anyway. Does anybody know if they are shorter than the Edelbrock shocks, which I believe are stock length (but not sure)?

Thanks Rodney. I sent a similar message to Ride Tech seeking their advice.

Any opinions on RQ vs HQ shocks for my car?

RQ is a non adjustable shock (great for a daily driver and a once in a great while autocrosser)
HQ is adjustable (perfect for a daily driver and part time autocrosser)

there both great shocks made by FOX, I always tell folks to get the adjustable ones because like most of us.... the autocross bug will grab you and you will want to do it more and more
