Hey, has anyone used a electric power steer unit in there pro touring car ?
Looking at it as a option for my car as it is finished and could be a good thing .
But could anyone let me know what a good brand is to use . Thanks ad

I'm interested in knowing as well
Seems they would be lighter and possibly less problematic?

I know some of the Mustang folk had been playing with adapting OEM tech to the old cars. I haven't read through there in awhile, but it last I remember they were having difficulty getting the effort to vary based on vehicle speed. Interesting read. Not sure of anyone using the aftermarket kits.

I've had one in my Falcon for the last 1.5 years or so. It's a Unisteer 4500 pound unit that I mounted in my firewall, between the rack and a 1.5:1 quickener. I've used it successfully at many autocrosses and several track days (including Laguna Seca), so I've demonstrated the thing's ability to eat abuse pretty well. I would argue that this unit works better at torque modulation than the one in my 2012 Honda, if not as good. What's better is that it does not leak or run off of a belt.

Since I'm changing over to a completely different chassis, the Electra Steer will probably be on eBay soon...

Hey Rustomatic, have you removed your unisteer EAPS? Would be interested to know what you are asking for it.
