Ive got a 78 Malibu that im getting ready to replace the front suspension and steering on. I have all brand new Moog parts for the steering and an energy suspension poly bushing kit for the front control arms for now until i can afford tube arms and coil overs later on. This will tie me over for now cause the car is as sloppy as... Well... We'll let your imagination finish that one
Anyway heres my real question. Is it better to lower the car using drop spindles or lowering springs? Or does it matter? I have a new set of Belltech 2" spindles for the front but the old springs also need to be replaced so should i run the drop spindles with new OEM height springs or ditch the spindles for 2" drop springs,?

Spindles are better because it doesn't affect the shock travel. Lowering springs compress the shock more so you'll have less total compression of the suspension compared to stock.
Additionally, the control arm & tie rod angles aren't affected when using drop spindles.

Your choice depends on your goals IMO. Do you just want it to look good lowered or do you want it to handle turning as good or batter than it did stock?
I've had all of the different variations on the front of my car over the years, stock spindles+stock springs, drop spindles+stock springs, drop springs+stock spindles, and now coil overs. Drop spindles are an easy way to drop the front without messing a bunch of other stuff up, but they do nothing to help correct the ills these cars are known for and will not help the handling at all (might possibly make it even worse). But iIf that works for you, it's an easy choice.

Ok well i do want the car to handle and know that the spindles alone dont correct for any geometry. The tube arms usually take care of that aspect correct?

The SC&C stage 2 kit has UCA and tall ball joints.

The ball joints will lower the car about 3/4".
You can later buy some LCA if you decide on what coil-over shock you want.
DSE, UMI, SPC, Spohn, and others I can't remember now, offer LCA.
