Well I figure I'll start putting some update pics as I make some progress. I bought a pretty basic restored 350 SS clone about a month ago. I just ordered some forgeline 18's, ride tech 4-link with coilovers out back and will be getting a Moser 12-bolt too. I cut out my old wheel wells last weekend to get the DSE minitubs in. This is my first time doing any sheetmetal work so it's been interesting but going ok. I'm hoping someone who's already done this could take a measurement for me. I've got the old stuff cut out and getting ready to weld in the closeouts on the subframe and then weld in the new tubs. I'm holding my 315/35-18 tire (http://www.tirebuyer.com/tires) up (wheels aren't here yet) and there's not much clearance near the back where the subframe is notched. Its tight near the fender lip and I was curious if this gap is about right. I'm seeing just about 12.5" from the tub to the fender lip (http://viglink.pgpartner.com/rd.php?r=7978&m=1277602071&q=n&rdgt=1429803839&it=1430235839&et=1430408639&priceret=195.00&pg=~~3&k=9f182faa8b16f3de714cf31f606064fc&source=feed&url=http%3A%2F%2Ftirerack%2Dus%2Erdr%2Echannelinte lligence%2Ecom%2Fgo%2Easp%3FfVhzOC8fBggESSMeJjM5PG 0SYRF3Lx8GTAICIxQKBg86ZSIPPzg7WUZAChhwJRgURQdILFpW XkcoajBCXx9RFjUhH1wKTmAZEWUxIUEPH1FaPDccEAQBSDtMbC A2WVNZXR41IR9FIjccbA4XGUkiLzYQZllCUHQADgAAVVE%2DVj cqJkAPfHlmDR0jLy4hEnh4AA0XEHEBAwFoZhdTWkEMP1xHWlcw KyFEV0MWcxoLOCw5Nxw%2DRyAhIF5dQllcLA0%2DDQ4GTD9LKi cMa1deVVUtDSMKGyxnMU1JWlZlJzxJVw1JUCx0HBEIEE46QX4n OkRtBQcOa2peVU0QUTBcLCA2EA5TXF48OQYHRE0%3D%26nAID% 3D5784816&st=feed&mt=~~~~~~~~n~~~) on the passenger side. Is this about right? My car was rear ended sometime years ago and I could tell the subframes were half-ass repaired when I started this project so the position could be a little off. The top of the tub looks ok as its over 14" to the fender lip (http://viglink.pgpartner.com/rd.php?r=7978&m=1277602071&q=n&rdgt=1429803839&it=1430235839&et=1430408639&priceret=195.00&pg=~~3&k=9f182faa8b16f3de714cf31f606064fc&source=feed&url=http%3A%2F%2Ftirerack%2Dus%2Erdr%2Echannelinte lligence%2Ecom%2Fgo%2Easp%3FfVhzOC8fBggESSMeJjM5PG 0SYRF3Lx8GTAICIxQKBg86ZSIPPzg7WUZAChhwJRgURQdILFpW XkcoajBCXx9RFjUhH1wKTmAZEWUxIUEPH1FaPDccEAQBSDtMbC A2WVNZXR41IR9FIjccbA4XGUkiLzYQZllCUHQADgAAVVE%2DVj cqJkAPfHlmDR0jLy4hEnh4AA0XEHEBAwFoZhdTWkEMP1xHWlcw KyFEV0MWcxoLOCw5Nxw%2DRyAhIF5dQllcLA0%2DDQ4GTD9LKi cMa1deVVUtDSMKGyxnMU1JWlZlJzxJVw1JUCx0HBEIEE46QX4n OkRtBQcOa2peVU0QUTBcLCA2EA5TXF48OQYHRE0%3D%26nAID% 3D5784816&st=feed&mt=~~~~~~~~n~~~). Thanks

Here's some updated pics of the minitub process. These are probably 95% complete and I'm hoping to finish this week. Still need to finish seal welding a couple spots then fab and install the seat brackets and the trunk support brackets followed by seam sealer and paint. After that my wheels should be here this week (tires already are) then I'll put them under the car and takes some measurements before ordering the narrowed rear. Please don't make fun of my welds too much as this is my first time welding anything. I'm also adding a pic of the car as it looked when I bought it a couple months ago.

Also this is the stance I'm going for (same wheels with satin gunmetal centers and polished lip although I went with the hidden hardware)

What size BFG's are on the Camaro? I just put 225/60/15 front and 255/60/15 on the rear of mine. I am using factory rallye wheels.

Get your rear fender lips rolled and you will have more than enough clearance for a 315 tire.

Here is my 68 with DSE tubs and 335 tires

The current tires are 235/60-14 and 245/60-14. I'm going up to 245/40-18 and 315/35-18

Time for an update. My goal for this entire project has been to finish it by 6/20 to attend a car show with my father-in-law about 160 miles away from where we live. Well I got it done barely. My rear was delayed and showed up Wed 6/17 at about 1PM and then the lower 4-link brackets later that afternoon. I took off work Thurs and Fri and got it all done Fri night and made the trip Saturday morning with no issues. Here's the breakdown:

Ridetech 4-link
Ridetech single adjustable coilovers (rear)
DSE minitubs
Moser 12-bolt narrowed to 54 5/8"
Wilwood 13" rotors and 6-piston calipers up front and 12.2" rotors and 4-piston calipers in the back
Forgeline GA3 18"x11" in back and 18"x8" in the front wearing 315/35-18s and 245/40-18s
Up front I just cut the springs...will be going with Ridetech coilovers soon since the ride is way too soft up there

Car looks really nice! Reminds me of my first street car, a red 68 I bought in 74.

Awesome car! Was the 54 5/8" width of your rear end measurement from the wheel mounting surface's? Also, do you know the backspacing of your wheels? I love the look of your rear setup.
