So I've owned this truck for over a decade now and it's been a very slow process because I still love just driving the truck and I havent been able to talk myself into taking it apart for major reconstruction. It's currently on a basic 5/6 static Belltech drop with 20" Torque thrust II's but I have full Porterbuilt air ride suspension for it including front drop member and tube A-arms, rack and pinion steering for the front and a leaf spring to truck arm conversion (NASCAR style baby!) for the rear with a rear drop member. I'm planning on a Hilborn Injected LS based engine and 4L60e auto in the future.

Nice looking truck. I understand what you are saying about not wanting to have a lot of down time during the build.

Do you have the space to buy and build a second frame and then do a frame swap? That would cut down on the down time.

I'm (re)building a previous owners project. My goal was to get it as a "driver", then I could work on it while driving it. I just have to finish up the brake system and I should be there. Then paint and body work.

That is super clean!

Actually that is the plan BS46488 but I haven't found a good donor frame yet and I'm also in the middle of a 78 Malibu build (also a pro touring build) as well and that one is taking all my work and storage space at the moment

Where did you get those chassis parts? I am starting to build my 84 and those look nice. I haven't found a lot of "pro-touring" components for these trucks yet. Good looking truck. Definitely going to follow this build.

Edit - Nevermind on where you got all of that. I found porterbuilts website and all of their goodies.

Dragndakota go check out Porterbuilt for the parts and then get ready to empty your checking account lol... Ive got about $4-5k into those parts alone and im not even done collecting parts. The Accuair components are another $2-2500!

You could also check out Chad Criss Design, he makes similar parts at a little lesser price but they are a little less as nice as Nate Porters parts

Great starting point. My granddad had a 76 and I love the grill and fenders on the early ones likes yours.

I looked porterbuilt after I seen your parts. Very nice items but I'm not ready to shell out that kind of money. I plan on doing a lot of fabrication myself. I have most of the fabrication tools and I'm an engineer so I know a lot of the math that goes into suspension but it is still intimidating taking on big projects like that.

Very nice, IMO Nathan Porter builds the nicest parts out there
