I've been trying to decide on what to do for the rear suspension on a 68 camaro. Initially I was keen on the truck arm suspension. After a lot of thought, I'm not quite as hip on that as I was initially.

I also think that any kind of leaf spring suspension leaves a lot on the table, not to mention the problems it creates when doing a mini tub.

So now I'm thinking a torque arm suspension. I figure I can use an "off the shelf" torque arm from a company like spohn that mounts the torque arm on it's own bracket (rather than the transmission) As well as an 'off the shelf panhard bar. I'll probably make some lower control arms. I'm thinking using the front leaf spring mounting place as a good point to attach them (or lower if needed for proper geometry). Might have to figure up some way to mount the torque arm to the rearend though.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a torque arms suspsension? Does this sound like a good idea?
