View Full Version : question about 69 camaro bumper
looking for information regarding painted bumpers. really like the look. i guess im wondering what exactly an endura bumper is. what makes it paintable? is it just a metal bumper thats not chrome plated? if anyone has experience with these i would appreciate the input. looking to have both front and rear painted. thx

They're urethane / plastic / rubber whatever you want to call it.
I hear they don't fit well. Some manufacturers offer fiberglass, or paintable steel that may be easier to work with (or modify).

Attend some local shows...have a look at late 60's gto's..post 73 corvette etc....you will see what dale means
ok so ordering the usual chrome plated bumpers and then having them worked and painted is probably the way to go?
well i figure if i buy a reputable set of bumpers i can be comfortable that they will fit right. then just do whatever it takes to have them painted. id probably rather go that route then having a paint ready bumper that wont fit and look right.

Send them to a plating company and have the chrome stripped, you will have much better results with the paint adhesion.

These are in primer, no need for chrome removal just sand and paint. Endura bumpers really suck, don't waste your time.
