Long time member finally getting around to introducing myself. I joined way back just after college and have been soaking in all the great ideas and knowledge from many on this board. I just never thought myself wise or experienced enough to contribute something that was not already said.
But I finally have the means, skills, and most importantly the vision to build my GTO into a more capable (and hopefully more fun) machine.

See you out there!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Buryingthesun, it looks like you're deep in the thick of your project! Great build thread!
I'm in the Foxboro area. Maybe I'll see you at one of the BassPro cruise nights. I'm hoping to make it to the Good Guys East Coast show in Springfield in June.

Over the last 16 years that I've had the GTO, I've done the entire drivetrain. 400" with aluminum heads, 2004R trans, BOP 10bolt rear with aftermarket gears, axles and posi.
I've only recently (last 2 years) done some suspension work. The BFG's were old it needed an upper ball joint, so... SC&C stage 2 front suspension, new springs and adjustable shocks all around, which lowered the car and caused the rear wheels to rub. I really like the Torque Thrusts, but wanted sticky tires and there are not many options for wheels smaller than 17".
17" Vette Grand Sport wheels, Plastidipped gray with 255/40 Direzza Z2's all around.
Got a great deal on base C6 brakes, only installed the fronts so far.
Looking to convert to a T56 very soon.
Plenty of body work to do...

So are you going to leave the patina? I love the patina! Welcome. It sounds like you and I are building something in the same ballpark. You should start a build thread for sure!

Thanks guys.
Nick, I've been following your build threads for a while. Great job and yes I'm looking to maintain the 1967 feel, although the new wheels ruined the '60's look, and get into AutoX. It's got plenty of patina! I do like the way it looks, and not sure I would like it shiny, but I would like to fix the body mounts... I never had many shiny things, and don't have to worry about parking next to people. I tend to focus on the "go" more than the "show".
