I have a 1969 Mach1. I'm looking for a complete wiring kit that is complete and easy to install, how does the Ron Francis Wiring kit compare to American Autowire, and Painless, how do they all compare to each other.

I used a painless universal kit on a 64 Fairlane. The only thing I didn't like was the terminal ends the supply seem cheap and are not weather tight. So you need to use heat shrink or source other terminals. I liked that the wiring is numbered and labeled often. Their customer service was pretty good and supplied me with wiring diagrams for my car even.

It seems most of the terminals for all the brands are very similar. I went with AAW classic upgrade for my 68 Mustang. Paid alittle bit more than a universal kit but it came with a replacement iginition switch (higher amperage), high beam switch and all new plugs/housings for interior lights. I also added A/C, EFI, Power windows/locks, back up camera... I still have room for more add-ons.

If your planning on using a universal kit, figure out how many circuits you need and go from there.

Customer service for all 3 brands are very good and there is tons of info on PT when it comes to wiring.

The crimpers required for the AAW can be expensive, tool-aid makes a set that are under $100. The guys on Auto-restomod have a series of You-Tube videos where they installed a AAW kit into a 67 Mustang and they go through each section step by step.
